What is Acupuncture?
Have you ever asked yourself why you breathe air and eat food? The answer is simple. To generate energy.
Energy is the foundation of human health and is involved in every function of every organ and cell within our body. It is therefore not difficult to understand that if our energy is not functioning correctly, then organs, systems and emotions within our body will fail to function correctly.
For thousands of years Chinese medical practitioners have known that the correct movement of energy around the body is fundamental in ensuring that our organs and emotions are well balanced and functioning at their optimum level.
But how does acupuncture Help? Acupuncture helps by regulating the movement of energy by inserting ultra-fine sterile needles into specific points on the body that re-balance the movement of energy and therefore provides the body with the ability to function at its optimum level. There can be many reasons why the distribution of energy within our bodies stops functioning correctly, but for many this can be a combination of emotional and physical stress, poor nutrition, infection, injury or genetic preposition.
My treatments are aimed at re-balancing the movement of energy in your body, and in doing so, patients should not only expect to see an improvement in their main complaint, but also in their general health and well-being. One of the wonderful aspects of acupuncture is that it is very good at dealing with peoples main complaint, but it is also effective at treating other complaints that people have just learnt to live with. Very often both the main complaint and secondary complaints are linked to the same root cause.
Because Acupuncture deals with the root cause of a person’s condition, it can be used to treat a variety of health problems that range from the physical to the deeper emotional levels. It can be used alone or alongside conventional western medicine and its effective at treating both acute and long-term conditions. Some people often choose to have acupuncture as a preventative measure to strengthen their general health, or because they feel unwell and they have not been provided with a conventional western diagnosis.
